New 2014 Subaru Forester Model Information

The new 2014 Subaru Forester will be arriving this spring in San Diego and Kearny Mesa Subaru is very excited to offer this all-new vehicle to our customers. The 2014 Forester is a total re-design, featuring a bolder exterior design and roomier interior, along with improved performance and higher fuel economy. The 2014 Forester also comes with the same strong reputation for safety, performance, dependability, and versatility Subaru is known for.

2014 Subaru Forester Design Information

The exterior of the Forester now features "hawkeye" headlights and a slightly taller, hexagonal shaped grille that anchors the bolder front-end design. The Forester 2.0XT models now have an exclusive aggressive looking sport design front bumper, and a one- piece mesh style grille. With the 2.0XT touring you get chrome-rimmed fog light bezels. The Forester also features a redesigned interior, giving you and your passengers more room and comfort. Along with increased rear leg room, the Forester 2.5i Limited and Touring models feature a reclining rear seatback and a rear seat fold-down center armrest with dual cupholders. And all models have a standard tilt/telescoping steering column.

The 2014 Forester offers standard and high-line multi-information displays. The standard 4.3-inch LCD screen will show you outside temperature, road surface freeze warning and a selection of fuel economy displays. With the upgraded high-line multi-information display, you'll get a color display rear vision camera, audio and Bluetooth information, climate control displays, and vehicle self-check and maintenance reminder. New safety features for 2014 include anti-whiplash front seats, a driver's knee airbag, Brake Override, and an impact-sensing fuel system cutoff. The 2014 Forester also offers the great option of the all-new Subaru EyeSight® Driver-Assist System. This system uses stereo camera images to provide a detection angle wider than that of aradar-based system. The EyeSight® Driver-Assist System features Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking, and Vehicle Lane Departure Warning.

2014 Subaru Forester Performance Features

The standard engine for the 2014 Forester 2.5i is a DOHC 2.5 liter FB series BOXER engine, which produces 170 horsepower and 174 lb.-ft. of torque, available in either 6-speed manual transmission or CVT. The 2014 Forester 2.0XT offers a new turbocharged variant of the FA-Series Boxer engine, which produces 250 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. And you won't have to sacrifice fuel economy for performance with the 2.5i model achieving 32 mpg on the highway and 24 mpg in the city, 27 mpg combined. And exclusive on the 2.0XT models is Subaru Intelligent Drive (SI-DRIVE), which allows the driver to tailor the vehicle's driving characteristics by choosing from three selectable modes; Intelligent, Sport, and Sport Sharp.
